RIPLEY - Bernard Ray "Rusty" Boggess, 46, of Ripley, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2000, at Jackson General Hospital after an extended illness.
He was born in Kanawha County, June 24, 1954. He was a son of the late Hillard and Dorlene Skeen Boggess.
He was assistant vice president of the United National Bank of Ripley for 22 years. He was a member of the local school improvement council; he was a member of the board of The Southern Jackson County Public Service District; past member of the Jackson County Sheriff Civil Service Commission; past board member of United Way of Mid Ohio Valley; board member of Jackson County Chamber of Commerce; past president of Ripley Rotary Club; past president of Ripley Area Chamber of Commerce; past board member of the Southern Jackson County Volunteer Fire Department.
He attended Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley.
He is survived by his wife, Belinda Joan Easter Boggess; two sons, Andrew Ray and Trenton Joseph Boggess at home; two sisters, Brenda Scarberry of Ripley, and Barbara Howard of Millville, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at McCoy's Conference Center today, Wednesday, December 27, 2000, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ken Krimmel and the Rev. Bill McMorran officiating. Burial will be in the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV. Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, is in charge of arrangements.
