Robert "Bob" Frederick Hoffman, 77, of Millwood, W.Va., departed this life Oct. 2, 2009, in Ravenswood Care Center, Ravenswood, following an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 2, 1932, in Charleston, a son of the late Fredrick R. and Frances Louise (McClure) Hoffman.
He was retired from the purchasing department of Kaiser Aluminum. He was the owner of Hoffman Insurance Agency, Evergreen Hills. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, W.Va. Bob was an avid member of the R.A.C.E. flying club, Millwood, W.Va., and a supporter of many local flying clubs. He was a member of Cottageville Lodge 54 A.F. & A.M. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps serving in Korea, with nine years of service, and was a member of the Jackson County Marine Corps League 1065.
Survivors include daughters, Kathryn Hoffman of Coatesville, Pa., and Cindy Hoffman of Daytona Beach, Fla.; and brothers, Jack Hoffman of Mineral Wells and William D. Hoffman of Brunswick, Ga.
In addition to his parents, his wife, Joann May (Pinnell) Hoffman; and son, Lloyd Pinnell Hoffman, preceded him in death.
Services will be Monday, Oct. 5, at 11 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, with the Rev. Teresa Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Blaine Memorial Cemetery, Cottageville, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. today at Casto Funeral Home, Evans, W.Va., and one hour prior to service time on Monday at the church.
