Bonnie Jean Simon, 91 of Ripley passed away January 1, 2014 at Eldercare of Ripley following a long illness.
She was born December 24, 1922 at Maldon, Ohio, a daughter of the late James and Olive Best Lawrence. She was owner of the former J and J Truck Stop in Ripley. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John R. Simon.
She is survived by a son John R. Simon Jr. of Given; daughters Shirley Morris of Ripley and Judith Short of Myrtle Beach; a sister Mary Louise Gheen of Stockport, Ohio; grandchildren Jeffrey Scott Morris, David Bryan Morris, Stephanie Vealey, Clifton Short, Billy Simon John Ryan Simon, and Nikki Board; great grandchildren Savannah Morris, Riley Morris, Lauren Morris, Jaden Simon, Wyatt Simon Willow Jean Simon, Kyle Simon, Maddie Simon, Dale Simon, Trey Board, Lauren Board and Andrew Board
A Celebration of the Life of Bonnie Jean Simon will be 1 pm Saturday, January 4, 2014 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with John Gunther officiating. Committal Service will be in the Fairplain Cemetery near Ripley following the Service. Friends may call from6 to 8 pm Friday at the Funeral Home.
The Family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to the Staff of Eldercare for the loving care given to their mother during her time there. A special thank you to her caregiver Robeana Williams for her kindness and care she gave to Mrs. Simon during her illness.
