    Dale Gene Conwell 79 of Ripley passed away at his home on Sunday morning, October 16, 2011, after a valiant battle with cancer. His loving wife of over 60 years, Lillian Hardman Conwell, was at his side as he went to be with his Lord.

    Dale was born on April 24, 1932 at Clarksburg, WV a son of the late Roy M. and Dolly Maine Conwell. He was retiree of the Kaiser Aluminum Corp. in Ravenswood and was a long time faithful member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley, where he was active in many ministries, including the choir and building committee.

    Mr. Conwell was preceded in death by parents, Sister Leoma Hathaway, and son in law Bryce Turner.

    In addition to his wife Lillian, he is survived by a sister Nancy Hall of Bridgeport; daughters Cynthia Turner of Ravenswood, Esther Stover (husband Mike) of Ripley and Marcia Anderson husband (Rudy) of Princeton; grandchildren Joshua Turner (wife Robin) of Parkersburg, Noah Turner of Racine, Ohio, Sherah Turner Weaver (husband Kurt) of Davisville, Rachel Turner Sells (husband Matthew) of Parkersburg, Jeremy Stover (wife Meredith) of Ripley, Matthew Stover (wife Adrianne) of Eldersburg, MD; great grandchildren Ella, Hayden and Wyatt Turner and Jackson Stover; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins.

    Dale was a wonderful dedicated Christian who was much loved by family, friends and neighbors alike and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

    Funeral service were Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley with Rev. Teresa Deane officiating. Burial was at Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley.
