Deendra "Dee" Barnette Miller, 52, of Ripley, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012, following a sudden illness.

She was born May 21, 1960, at Charleston, a daughter of the late Shirley Frashier Barnette and Carroll Barnette. She was a member of the Class of 1978 of Ripley High School. She was a nurse and a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley. She loved being a nurse and serving the Lord and recently celebrated 35 years in nursing.

She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Larry Miller; her children, Brandon Miller and his wife Sarah of Parkersburg, Jaclyn Miller of Ripley and Cameron Miller of Ripley; a sister, Debbie Johnson and her husband Larry of Ripley; brothers, Camden "Butch" Barnette and his wife Debbie of Ripley and Mitch Barnette and his wife Jesse of Ripley; father-in-law, Henry Miller of Ripley; nephews, Jason and Justin Johnson, Brett and Blake Barnette and Nick and Heath Barnette; great-nieces, Hannah, Kaitie and Emma Johnson, and her cousins, Jolea Martin of Ripley, Jill Rake of Ripley and Brent Buck of Lexington, Ky.

A celebration of Dee's life will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012 at the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley.

The family suggests donations in memory of Dee be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church, 299 N. Church Street, Ripley, WV 25271 or to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
