Dorothy Erma Morton Roberts, 95, of Ripley, WV formerly of Homestead, PA passed away August 1, 2015 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston.
She was born January 20, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA, a daughter of the late Joseph and Zoie Culp Riding.
She was a former cashier at A &P. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and a former member of the Homeville Christian Church in Munhall, PA. Dorothy enjoyed bowling, working puzzles and singing.
She is survived by her daughter Joyce (Del) Lawhon of Ripley; a sister Ruth Smock of West Mifflin, PA; grandchildren Kevin Allen (Tammy) Lawhon of Hurricane, Lisa Lawhon (Chuck) Bailey of Ripley and Donna Yackanach of Manheim, PA ; great grandchildren Elizabeth Lawhon, Allyson Lawhon, Carissa Lawhon, Caleb Bailey, Lauren Bailey and Michael Yackanach step son John Richard (Carol) Roberts III of Winter Springs, FL and his children Amber and Marc. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband Samuel A. Morton, second husband John Richard Roberts II, her son Robert D. Morton and seven siblings.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at the Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley. A visitation time with the family will be one hour (10 am to 11 am) prior to the service at the church.
