Harley M. “Buddy” Goff Jr.


Harley M. “Buddy” Goff Jr., 82, of Evans, passed away Friday, December 28, 2012 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born September 3, 1930 at Nitro, WV, son of the late Harley M. and Helen Custer Goff. He was a 1948 graduate of South Charleston High School and retired from the 130th Airlift Group of the West Virginia Air National Guard in Charleston as a Master Sergeant with over 30 years of full-time service as a data entry technician.

Buddy was also a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley.

Surviving: Wife, Barbara A. “Bobbie” Goff of Evans; Sons, Larry Goff (Patty) of Sissonville, Kenneth Goff of Savannah, GA and Patrick Goff (Denise) of Columbus, O; Brother, Edwin F. Goff (Ann) of Greensboro, Ga.; Granddaughter, Sherice Jacob (Timo) of Cross Lanes; Grandson, Alan White of Cross Lanes; Brother-in-law, Gene Elkins; Numerous nieces and nephews and friends.

In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by an infant brother, Eugene Goff  and sisters Joan Elkins, Irene Vaughn and Bonnie Goff.

Funeral services are set for 1 p.m.  Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Dr. John D. Hardman officiating. Private interment will follow at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans. Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers donations honoring Mr. Goff may be made to the Epworth United Methodist Church in Ripley.
