Hiawatha Mildred (Kay) Board

Hiawatha Kay Board, 93, of Ripley, passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at Eldercare of West Virginia in Ripley following a long illness.
She was born November 12, 1913, in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Jennings and Augusta Williams Kay. She was a homemaker and a member of the
Epworth United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and worked at the Sterling Store in Ripley. She was also a foster grandparent.
Survivors include her daughter Joyce Board of Ripley; son David Board and wife Linda of Evans; grandchildren David Andrew Board and Sarah Ruth Board; great-grandchildren Derik Board, Devan Board and Kylie Board; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in, death by her husband Russell Clair Board; three brothers and five sisters. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 25, 2006, at Vail Funeral Home in Ripley with the Rev. Dr. Ken Krimmel officiating. Burial followed in the Evans Cemetery in Gay.
