John Luther Gollehon, III

John L. Gollehon III, 58, of Ripley, W.Va., passed away suddenly on Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, at Charleston Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Nov. 12, 1946, at Beckley, W.Va., a son of John L. Gollehon Jr. of Ripley, W.Va., and the late Marie Deck Gollehon. He was a kitchen and bath designer, recently working at J Co Lumber in Ripley, W.Va. He was a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, W.Va.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Vickie Johnson Gollehon; daughters, Tia Ayers and her husband, John, of Vienna, W.Va., and Courtney Gollehon of Cross Lanes; a son, Mark Parsons and wife, Tara, of Delaware, Ohio; a brother, Joe Gollehon and wife, Ann, of Charleston; an uncle, James Stewart Deck of Beckley, W.Va.; and a granddaughter, Isabella Parsons. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at the Epworth United Methodist Church, Ripley, W.Va., with the Rev. Dr. Kenneth Krimmel officiating. Burial will be at the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, W.Va.

Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at the Vail Funeral Home, Ripley, W.Va., and one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in John's memory to the Epworth United Methodist Church, North and Church Street, Ripley, WV 25271.

John was always giving to others. He was known to give to others before himself. John gave the greatest gift of all to others by being an organ donor. John will live on!
