        RIPLEY – Madge Chancey Winter, 92 of Ripley passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at Jackson General Hospital following a long illness. 

        She was born April 3, 1918 at Plum Orchard a daughter of the late Gregory and Lois Corbin Chancey. She was a homemaker and partnered with her husband Harl W. Winter in Winter Development Corporation and the Colonial Motel for many years. She was a loving and devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother.

        In addition to her parents, her husband, Harl W. Winter, and a brother, Craten Chancey, preceded her in death.

        She is survived by a son Keith Winter and his wife Rita of Ripley; daughters Karen Hammack of Ripley and Jan Hicks and her husband David of West Melbourne, FL; grandchildren Brent (Christina) Winter of Hermosa Beach, California, Beth (Donn) Salvosa of Vienna, VA, Kelly Hill of Ravenswood, Nicole (Rex) Hezlitt and David (Kristina) Hicks all of West Melbourne, FL; great grandchildren Kassidy and Kerigan Crow, Ryan and Luke Salvosa, Ella Winter, Payton Allen, Hailee Hicks and Roberta (Bobbi) Chancey of Evans.

        Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, June 17, at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, with Pastor Terri Deane officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery. Friends could call from 6 till 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

        In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in memory of Madge Winter to Epworth United Methodist Church, corner of North and Church St., Ripley, WV 25271 or the American Diabetes Association.
