Oscar "Wally" Wallace, Jr.

Oscar “Wally” Wallace, Jr., 90, of Ripley passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016.
He was born on March 20, 1926 in Milton to the late Oscar and Ada Holley Wallace. In addition to his parents, Wally was preceded in death by his daughter, Ada Gayle Wallace; sisters Hannah Catherine Wallace Hart and Mozzella Wallace; and brothers, Hascal Clovis Wallace, Theron Bernard Wallace, Berman Sesco Wallace and Joe Tim Wallace.
Wally realized that he had been blessed by others who helped him throughout his life. It started with his parents and continued on with his teachers, mentors, and peers. He was truly thankful for all who played a role in his success.
Wally retired from Kaiser Aluminum where he was Regional Superintendent of Management Systems. He had been a General Contractor during his career with Kaiser. After his retirement, he was appointed Director of the West Virginia Lottery, and he continued farming throughout his life. He was the past President of the WV Angus Association, Vice President of the WV Jaycees, Chairman of the Jackson County Republican Committee, and Chairman of the Board for the United National Bank of Ripley.
Wally was the loving husband of Lois Ann Vineyard Wallace; father to Oscar “Ted” Theodore (Cheryl) Wallace, Bryan Douglas Wallace, Jodie Melinda Wallace and the late Ada Gayle Wallace; grandfather to Scott Wallace, Mike (Allison) Wallace, Mark Casto, Katie (Brian) Casto Franklin, Sarah (Radim) Neely and Caroline (Jonathon) Neely Stuart; great grandfather to Calvin Bruzek, Remy Bruzek, and Asher Stuart.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Monday, December 19, 2016 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Ford Price and John Gunther officiating. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
